The park is being built to ADA standards (Adults with Disabilities Act) focused on veterans but open to all who may need extra considerations for outdoor recreational activities.

Projects underway/planned for 2023 – 2024: Drainage Ponds (2), 16 RV sites, 15 tent sites, water well, septic field, outhouse, building to house showers, toilets, storage, and a canteen. These projects are for the upper 17 acres – the lower waterfront acreage will need new permitting and projects will include a switchback trail to a dock on the Iron River Flowage.

Installation of Vietnam Memorial that was designed, made, and donated to park by local artist will be complete in Spring of 2023.

Completed thus far through donations, grants and fundraisers include The Circle of Flags, Honor Wall with tiles honoring veterans, a walking/hiking nature trail and electrical lighting for flags, signage, and parking area. Pavers honoring non-veteran supporters are lining the walkways. The Board of Directors is all volunteers – some veterans and some who want to help veterans.
